Please note that for the forthcoming 2012/2013 season, the rules for the third set have been changed in order to allow close games more time to be decided. The winner of the deciding third set (and therefore, the match) will be the team that is the first to 7 points as before, but they must now be 2 points clear. This will be capped at 9 points, so in the event of the score being 8-8, the winner of the next point wins the match.
So the winning scores in the third set can only be 7-0, 7-1, 7-2, 7-3, 7-4, 7-5, 8-6, 9-7 or 9-8.
The fixtures for the 2012/2013 indoor season have been published. The season starts on Tuesday, September 11th 2012 with the annual player development evening and runs until the Mark Pitman Tournament on Tuesday April 30th 2013.

Three local players who started playing volleyball with Wessex have been selected to represent Great Britain at this summer's Olympic games in London.
Dan Hunter, 22, is the libero for the men's indoor team; Lucy Wicks, 29, sets for the women's indoor team and 26-year-old Zara Dampney is one half of the women's beach team. More details of all three and their volleyball backgrounds can be viewed on the Wessex volleyball web site.

Congratulations to this year's league champions: Wessex C in Division 1, Wessex E in Division 2 and Wessex Girls in Division 3.
Week 20's games were played on April 10th 2012, this is the penultimate week of league matches this season.
In Division 1, Wessex B came from a set down and a slow start to the second set to defeat Sandbanks A 7-4 in the final set, win both their games in hand and go back to the top of the table with one game left. The winner of their game against Wessex C next week will be the champion. Sandbanks had the consolation of beating Spike Monkeys A in three sets to jump back to third place. They will play Wessex D next week with the winner sure of 3rd place.
Congratulations to Wessex D and Wessex U16 Boys for winning this year's KO cup competitions (Div 1 and Div 2 respectively).
Wessex D beat Wessex C 25-20 21-25 7-1 in their semi-final and followed this with a two-set (25-24 25-21) victory over Sandbanks A to take the Division 1 cup.
In the Division 2 competition, Wessex U16 Boys beat Ashdown 25-21 25-4 and then Bournemouth Falcons 25-11 11-25 7-4 in their final.
Well done to both teams and thanks to everyone that took part in this year's competitions.
Trophies will be presented on April 17th 2012.
Week 19's games were played on the evening of Tuesday March 20th 2012.
In Division 1, leaders Wessex C dropped two points out of a possible eight by losing 7-6 in the tie break to Wessex D, who also beat Wessex A to jump to third in the table. Wessex C had earlier beaten Wessex A 2-0.
